About Rob
Halcrow
Rob Halcrow BSc (Hons), MSc is an independent ecological consultant with a background spanning countryside management, environmental economics, practical land management and ecological survey work.
​
Academic foundation: National Diploma in Countryside Management, BSc (Hons) in Environmental Economics and Environmental Management, and MSc in Environmental Economics and Environmental Management - both undergraduate and post-graduate degrees obtained fro the University of York.
​
Career journey: Practical conservation and grounds maintenance, ecological fieldwork (NVC since 2007 and bat surveys since 2010), executive and board leadership in the charity sector, and later a return to ecological consultancy and freelance support.
​
Formative experience: Time working with UNEP in South Sudan helped shape a deeper perspective on resource management, resilience and the social importance of environmental work.
​
Personal perspective: A grounded Christian faith, love of the outdoors, and a desire to deliver honest, useful work with humility and care.

NATURE EXPERIENCES
Fun, educational outdoor experiences
Rob has experience leading bat walks, bat talks and dawn chorus walks through work with the National Trust, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust and during his time as CEO at Rowheath Pavilion in Bournville.

Halcrow also partners with local experts where appropriate to help deliver sessions with strong educational value, tailored to families, community groups, schools and local organisations.
